TN Abortion Doula Intensive Fall 2026

Tennessee's abortion funds, Abortion Care Tennessee and Mountain Access Brigade, are collaborating to offer our local community an Abortion Doula Training Intensive: a 5 week course on becoming an abortion doula (12.5 training hours total) from September 2026 - October 2026. We're partnering with expert facilitators with Abortion Doula Alchemy to bring this tailor-made program to Tennessee, covering the tenets of Reproductive Justice, Tennessee's current landscape of abortion access, the role of doulas throughout history, and how to apply these core concepts to our work helping community members make empowered decisions about their bodies and their futures as abortion doulas. Tennessee's abortion funds are offering this opportunity to our community free of charge in the hopes of deepening our relationships to others fighting for Reproductive Justice, developing new and emerging leadership within our movement, and adding to the long-term capacity of our funds' work. By training up a cohort of new abortion doulas, we're hoping to expand the network of folks helping Tennesseans access abortion care, information, and sexual and reproductive health resources in a state with one of the strictest abortion bans in the country.

About ACT and MAB
Abortion Care Tennessee and Mountain Access Brigade are Tennessee's two independent abortion funds. We merged in August of 2025 in order to double our impact across the state. ACT is a 501C3 nonprofit and fiscal sponsor of Mountain Access Brigade. Mountain Access Brigade is a grassroots collective of abortion doulas. Both of our funds offer financial support to Tennesseans fleeing the state to obtain legal abortion care from clinics in neighboring states. ACT offers block grants to the 5 clinics who see the highest number of TN patients, while MAB operates a custom, confidential call/text line staffed by trained abortion doulas where patients can call in to receive practical, logistical, or emotional support ahead of their abortion appointments. With our combined methods of funding, Tennesseans are able to get anywhere from $200 - $2,000 of financial support for their clinic appointments, free sexual and reproductive healthcare resources, accurate information about their pregnancy options, compassionate and non-judgmental care from a trained abortion doula, and connections to other local resources that folks might need.
